Daphne Jacqueline Postill Grown for its scented blossom in late winter, Daphne bholua Jacqueline Postill is a medium-sized, slow-growing, semi-evergreen shrub with a slender, upright habit and oval, waxy, deep green leaves. Clusters of wonderfully scented flowers, deep pink in bud and paler pink within, open from late January; these are followed by small purplish-black berries. Keep pruning to a minimum, and plant where its roots will be shaded. Lovely in a winter border with cyclamen, or near a gate or doorway where the scent can be appreciated, but be aware that all parts of the plant are toxic if eaten, and the sap is an irritant. Daphne Jacqueline Postill holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. All parts of the plant are poisonous to humans and a range of animals.
