Japanese Anemone Konigin Charlotte Also known as Japanese anemone Queen Charlotte, this beautiful anemone flowers for weeks in the second half of summer and into autumn. Anemone x hybrida Konigin Charlotte is a tall, vigorous, clump-forming, herbaceous perennial, long-lived and very easy to grow – just cut it back in late autumn. The deep green, tripartite, rather vine-like leaves appear early in the year, and provide attractive cover for the dying leaves of bulbs like ornamental alliums. From late July to September, pretty, semi-double, warm pink flowers with rounded, overlapping petals and golden stamens rise elegantly on wiry stems above the leaves; they are attractive to bees. Be aware that Japanese anemones can run at the root; they also hate being moved, so choose your site carefully. Japanese anemone Konigin Charlotte holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
