Columnar Tulip Tree A striking form of the tulip tree, Liriodendron tulipifera Fastigiatum is columnar formed and has sharply ascending branches. The large and unusal shaped leaves are green in Summer and then they turn shades of golden in Autumn. The flowers are green and orange and tulip-shaped, hence the common name Tulip Tree. The flowers appear in July, more prolifically in warmer areas, but the tree does not flower until it is somewhat mature. An excellent structural tree for a large garden.
