Apple Fiesta
One of dessert Apple Fiesta’s parents was Cox’s Orange Pippin; it shares that apple’s gorgeous flavour, but is far easier to grow in Irish conditions. The fruit is medium-sized, round and yellow-green, striped and flushed orange-red with a little russeting; the flesh is crisp, sweet and very juicy, with a Cox-like, nutty, aromatic flavour. Makes a small tree, easy to maintain, with rather pendulous growth. Spur-bearer. Very good keeper – will keep until May in good storage conditions. Can be cooked – holds its shape well in tarts and pies. Good disease resistance, although scab may be a problem in adverse areas. Holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
