Apple Yarlington Mill An excellent variety of late cider apple, Apple Yarlington Mill was discovered in Somerset at the beginning of the 20th century, and is widely grown in commercial orchards. The fruit is medium-sized and green flushed with orange-red; the flesh is firm and good for pressing. The juice is sweet to bitter-sweet, with a lovely aroma, and so well balanced that it can be used for single vintage cider. Fruit drops when ripe. Apple Yarlington Mill is a moderately vigorous tree, coming a little late into bearing but thereafter bearing heavy crops, though with a tendency to biennial bearing. Spur-bearer, and a good pollinator. Very resistant to canker.
