Mock Orange Snowbelle
A Canadian cultivar, grown for its pretty flowers with their heavenly scent of orange-blossom and jasmine, Philadelphus Snowbelle is a deciduous shrub with a neat, rounded, bushy but rather elegant habit. The small leaves are deep green, a lovely foil for the flowers. From late May into July, the shrub carries a profusion of terminal clusters of double, white flowers with a strong scent that carries on the air. Mock Orange Snowbelle is an easy shrub, not needing dead-heading as it flowers once only, albeit for quite a long time. Prune, if necessary, after flowering, removing any dead, diseased, damaged or crossing branches; pruning every other year or so will encourage new wood and better flowering.
