Aleutian Maidenhair Fern Imbricatu
A lovely, dwarf fern for little, shady spaces, Adiantum pedatum Imbricatum syn with Adiantum aleuticum Imbricatum is a semi-evergreen fern (sometimes winter-dormant), with a spreading habit, forming a rather congested mound. The leaves overlap on the slender, black stems, forming pale, bluish-green fronds, sometimes tinged pink when young. Aleutian Maidenhair Fern Imbricatum dislikes hot midday and afternoon sun, so plant in a shady place, which may get morning sun; it really prefers dappled shade. As it spreads, propagate by division in early spring. It can also be grown in a pot, kept in shade.
