LEARN TO WEAVE ON A FRAME LOOM IN SCHULL, WEST CORK We are really happy to introduce our weaving on a frame loom class to Schull and hope you will enjoy it in this beautiful village environment which looks down towards the sea. This workshop will teach you foundational weaving skills on a simple frame loom. At the end of the workshop you will be able to take home the piece you have made during the class - whether a small wall-hanging, a bookmark, or a placemat - it’s up to you!  You will also take home the knowledge to continue your interest in weaving in your own time.   The class will cover: Design development - deciding what to make, choosing a colour scheme and selecting appropriate yarns Loom set-up - knotting and warping your wool on which to create your weave structures on a warping area of L39cm x W27 cm.  Creating your weaving using a variety of sustainably sourced yarns in an assortment of textures Taking the weaving off the loom and finishing it so that your piece is ready to take home with you All yarns and equipment are provided and are sustainably sourced.  Where: Arran Street East Creative Hub, Main Street, Schull, West Cork Time: 11am-1pm or 2-4pm     FAQs Who is this course for? This workshop will suit beginners looking for an introduction to working on a frame loom, or those who have worked with frame looms before and would like a simple refresher or time to make some new pieces. Is there an age limit for the Workshop? This course is generally for people aged 18 and above. A teenager over 12 may attend if they are accompanied by an adult.
