Honeysuckle American Beauty A wonderfully fragrant hybrid honeysuckle, Lonicera x heckrottii American Beauty is a vigorous, semi-evergreen shrub which does not twine, so it needs to be tied in to a support. The shiny, fresh green leaves are rounded in shape. Beautifully scented, deep pink, tubular flowers, flaring out to peachy-orange-yellow, are borne from June to August, sometimes into September. In colder areas, this shrub will lose its leaves in winter, with fresh green growth appearing in spring. Cut back after flowering, removing one-third of the flowered shoots, and apply a mulch in spring. Also known as Gold Flame, honeysuckle American Beauty holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
