Coneflower Magnus A strong variety of coneflower, tolerant of adverse weather conditions with a long flowering period from July to September. The very large (up to 10cm/4in) deep pink-purple daisy-like flowers of Echinacea purpurea Magnus are held flat on stiff stems with a dark orange center mounted on top. The seedheads are a wildlife foodsource in the Winter months. Coneflower Magnus is an award winning showy late flowering perennial. A favorite for butterflies, bees and other beneficial pollinators and resistant to grazing deer. An excellent cut flower that can be planted in the mixed border or wildlife garden. Also works in containers and mixed with ornamental grasses. Partners well with Anemanthele lessoniana and other Coneflowers. Echinacea purpurea Magnus contains similar medicinal properties to Echinacea purpurea, albeit in lower concentration.
