Japanese Dogwood Miss Satomi A tall, rather slow-growing, deciduous cultivar of the Japanese dogwood, Cornus kousa Miss Satomi is lovely at all seasons of the year. In late spring, four showy, strawberry-pink bracts surround the inconspicuous, green flowers; these are followed by strawberry-like, inedible fruits. The oval, deep green leaves turn beautiful shades of red and purple in autumn, and in winter the attractive bark becomes the focus of attention. Requires minimal pruning.
