Silk Tree Rouge de Tuilière A slightly tender shrub for the small garden in mild areas, Albizia julibrissin Rouge de Tuilière is a large shrub, quite fast-growing, deciduous, with delicate foliage in summer and a spreading, umbrella-like shape. The leaves are heavily divided into leaflets, and look quite fern-like, turning to purplish-red in autumn. Fluffy, bright red flowers can be borne in summer in milder areas. Silk Tree Rouge de Tuilière  is not for areas with harsh frosts; it’s best in milder gardens, and can suffer top-growth die-back in colder gardens. Need a sheltered position from cold winds, and will stand slightly colder sites if the summer growth is sufficiently ripened. It can also be grown in pots and containers, when it will be slightly smaller.
