Australian Fuchsia
A South Australian native plant, Correa pulchella is a medium-sized evergreen, winter-flowering shrub with a rather lax, bushy habit. The deep green, lance-shaped leaves have dusty white undersides. From autumn and through winter to spring, the shrub bears clusters of beautiful, pendent, pink, orange or white flowers, tubular with four reflexed tips, and not unlike a fuchsia’s. This is a half-hardy plant, ideal in ericaceous compost in pots for a conservatory, or grown outside and brought under cover in winter. Easy to grow, and needing no pruning, Australian fuchsia holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
