Siberian Waldsteinia
A beautiful, shade-loving, rhizomatous, semi-evergreen to evergreen perennial, Waldsteinia ternata is ideal for ground-cover under shrubs or in woodland plantings. The round leaves are deeply divided into three leaflets, and are a deep, glossy green. In April and May, pretty, golden-yellow, saucer-shaped flowers, ½”/1.5cm across and rather like strawberry flowers, cover the plant just above the leaves. Siberian waldsteinia is easy-to-grow and rabbit-resistant; it spreads by rhizomes, but is not invasive.
