Butterfly Bush White Ball
Bred in the Netherlands, Buddleja davidii White Ball is a medium-sized, fast-growing, deciduous shrub with an upright, arching habit, wonderfully attractive to butterflies and bees. The long, lance-shaped leaves are silvery grey-green, setting off the pure white flowers beautifully. These are richly scented, and borne in rounded panicles 8”/20cm long from July to September. Dead-heading will encourage later flowering. Butterfly bush White Ball is an adaptable, easy plant, ideal for the back of the border if pruned annually; it can also be used as an informal hedge. Keep compact by hard-pruning in early spring; the plant will still flower, but later, which is better for the butterflies!
