Peach Rochester Bred in America in the early 20th century, dessert Peach Rochester is perhaps the best and most reliable yellow peach for conditions in these islands, but in Ireland really needs to be fan-trained against a warm wall or grown under cover. Large, golden fruit with a red blush, with juicy, yellow flesh, a free stone and a good flavour. The tree is moderately vigorous. Protect outdoor, wall-trained trees against silver-leaf disease with a waterproof canopy from autumn to spring; hand-pollination may therefore be needed. Holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. The roots of Peaches are often hard pruned.
