Siberian Pea Tree
A large deciduous shrub or small tree native to Northern and eastern Asia. A popular plant for regenerative landscaping due to it's nitrogen-fixing abilities. In Spring it has beautiful bright yellow flowers, followed by pea-like fruits which are used a staple food in its native range. Young pods can be cooked and used as a vegetable. Will survive in most soils, even poor and very alkaline ones. Prefers full sun and a light sandy dry or well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established and resistant to strong winds.
