Oregon Grape Winter Sun
A hybrid, medium-sized, very upright shrub, Mahonia x media Winter Sun has an evergreen, bushy habit. The pinnate leaves, with leaflets, are deep green and spiny. Small, golden-yellow, lily-of-the-valley-scented flowers, in clusters of erect racemes, appear in winter; these are followed by blue-black berries. A surprisingly tolerant shrub, as long as it has full or partial shade. Oregon Grape Winter Sun holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
