Chinese Swamp Cypress Woolly Mammoth
A rare cultivar of an ancient and fascinating tree from China and the far east, grown for its good autumn colour, Glyptostrobus pensilis Woolly Mammoth is a deciduous conifer with an upright, quite narrow habit. The needles are bluish-green, turning a rich colour in autumn before needle-fall. Insignificant flowers are borne in spring, followed by small cones in autumn. Chinese swamp cypress Woolly Mammoth needs a lot of water (as you can tell by the name) and will not thrive on any but reliably moist or wet soils. Needs minimal pruning.
