Daffodil Martinette
A beautiful, lemon-yellow daffodil and a small, orange trumpet, Daffodil Martinette is a tazetta daffodil with four to five flowers on each stem. It’s a bulbous, deciduous perennial that comes up year after year. The rather broad, strap-shaped leaves are grey-green. The perianth flowers are lemon-yellow, with a pale orange flush at the base, and a small orange trumpet, and are strongly fragrant; it’s a mid-season daffodil and appears in March and April. Plant to 1 ½ the depth of the bulb, top to bottom; deeper (twice the depth of the bulb) in light soils. Easy to grow, and no pruning needed, as it dies down; remember to plant a perennial in front to conceal the dying leaves. It naturalises well in grass, but don’t cut the grass until the leaves have fully died down. This bulb likes to have consistent moisture during the growing season. Congested clumps of daffodil Martinette can be divided when the plant has fully died down.
