Japanese Anemone Prinz Heinrich
An unusual and attractive form of Japanese anemone for late summer colour, Anemone hupehensis var. japonica Prinz Heinrich is a herbaceous perennial with a suckering habit. The attractively cut, semi-evergreen leaves are deep green. From August to September, the plant bears deep rose-pink semi-double flowers with a ring of golden stamens round a green eye; the petals are unusual, narrow, quilled and slightly in-rolled. The flowers emerge a rich rose-purple, softening in colour as they age, and are good for pollinators. Choose the site carefully, as Japanese anemone Prinz Heinrich can spread rapidly once it has settled in.
