Rose Hertfordshire
A hardy, repeating, ground-cover rose, Rosa Hertfordshire is a low, semi-evergreen, shrub rose with a bushy, spreading habit. The foliage is bright green and fairly dense. The flowers are 3”/4cm across, single and a deep carmine-pink, with paler centres and golden stamens and the little shrub flowers from midsummer into autumn. This charming little rose is ideal for planting on a bank, but as these drain fast, mulch with compost, manure or leaf-mould in early spring to conserve moisture, and for best flowering, give organic feed at the same time. Dead-head to prolong flowering, and lightly prune in March. Rose Hertfordshire holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
