Daffodil Erlicheer
A narcissus variety for forcing indoors, Narcissus Erlicheer is a smallish, bulbous, borderline-hardy, perennial with an upright habit. The leaves are strap-shaped and mid-green. Depending when you plant it, autumn or spring, pretty, double, multi-headed, creamy-white flowers appear from November to March, with a butter-yellow centre and a stunning scent, rather gardenia-like, which will fill the largest room. When the display is over, it can be planted in a warm, sheltered bed outdoors, in very mild areas. Narcissus Erlicheer also makes a fine cut flower. To force, plant in bulb-fibre, wearing gloves, and keep in the dark for eight weeks, before bringing into a shady room, gradually increasing the light.
