Variegated Japanese Sedge Everest
A delightful little variegated grass, Carex oshimensis Everest is a small, tufted, clump-forming, perennial sedge with arching leaves. The narrow, sword-shaped leaves are deep- and mid-green along their length, with narrow, silvery white margins. In early summer, airy, brown flower-spikelets appear above the foliage, contrasting well with the leaves. Japanese sedge Everest is particularly good at the front of a border with contrasting evergreen foliage or coloured sedges, and is good for brightening a partially shaded part of the garden.
