Salmonberry Olympic Double
Grown for its stunning blossom, Rubus spectabilis Olympic Double is a medium-sized, vigorous, deciduous shrub with prickly, upright stems and a suckering habit. The glossy, deep green leaves have three ovate lobes. In April and May, beautiful, purple-pink fully double flowers 2”/5cm across are borne singly along the branches. Good in a wild garden, Salmonberry Olympic Double is a thicket-forming shrub, spreading by means of its suckers. Note that this plant is listed as invasive in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, so care must be taken not to allow it to spread and in disposing of unwanted material.
