Shrub Rose Queen of Denmark A truly beautiful, once-flowering alba rose, Rosa Queen of Denmark is a medium-sized, deciduous, old shrub rose with an upright, bushy habit and graceful, arching, thorny stems. The divided foliage has ovate, serrated, grey-green leaflets, a lovely foil for the flowers. In midsummer, pretty, bright pink buds open to clusters of large, fully double, quartered flowers in shades of soft, clear pink with a green button ‘eye’; the exquisite Old Rose fragrance is both strong and exceptionally refined. This rose is tough, has excellent disease-resistance, and tolerates partial shade better than other roses; it’s lovely in a mixed border, a flowering hedge or even a naturalistic planting. One of the finest of the old shrub roses, rose Queen of Denmark holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
