Prickly Pineapple will give you that little extra heat, he’s great with a cooked breakfast, alongside an Indian meal and even a Scottish haggis neaps and tatties.About Trodden Black started trading in December 2018 after travelling through South East Asia, New Zealand and Australia. The idea to make chilli jam came to them during their journey, slowly developing their palates and recipes as they went. They kept hearing the phrase ‘Off The Beaten Track’ whilst exploring areas of the South East. Being Scottish, this phrase didn’t quite sit, so they started their own phrase ‘Off The Trodden Trail’ *imagine a strong Scottish accent rolling the Rs*. This became their company name until they came across the poem ‘The Road Not Taken’ by Robert Frost, and it was perfect, they had it - Trodden Black. ​Once enough of thier friends and family told them that their jams were super wicked awesome, they decided to turn this passion into a business. Within three months they were trading, and now they just want to keep growing, experimenting and creating the best chilli jams and hot sauces around.
