Tufted Hair Grass Goldtau A smaller, graceful, tufted hair grass, Deschampsia cespitosa Goldtau (Golden Dew) is a clump-forming, herbaceous perennial grass with deep green, narrow leaves which age to golden-brown. In summer, delicate but long-lasting, silvery-brownish-green flowers, ageing to gold, form on stems to 30”/75cm tall, and give a graceful, shimmering effect in the garden. Cut back to the ground before growth starts in early spring. Tufted hair grass Goldtau holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Good as a cut or dried flower.
