Helichrysum italicum
A small bushy evergreen shrub with silver-grey leaves and yellow flowers in clusters in Summer. Even though its common name is Curry Plant and it does smell like curry powder, this herb has nothing in common with actual curry spice. Helichrysum has more of a sage-like aroma and can be used as such in Mediterranean meat, fish or vegetable dishes. Let the leaves cook until they have imparted their flavour, then remove before serving. A lovely addition to the kitchen garden or herb border.
