Catmint Six Hills Giant
A lovely, long-flowering, easy plant for those with light soils and a big garden, Nepeta Six Hills Giant is a large, vigorous, herbaceous perennial which makes a very good substitute for lavender in damper areas. It has small, aromatic, grey-green, elliptical leaves with toothed edges. From late May to July, and usually for longer, spires of lavender-blue, tubular flowers, very attractive to bumble bees, appear above the leaves. Clip over after the first flush of flowers to encourage fresh growth and flowering. Catmint Six Hills Giant is particularly good as an underplanting for old shrub roses or edging a large, sunny border, which will appear longer for the line of misty blues and greys.
