Roger Phillips is Britain’s most celebrated mushroom-hunter and has written many books on mushrooms, plants and gardening. Leslie Land, who died in 2013, was an American food journalist whose work covered everything from recipes to gardening tips and botanical information as she sought to connect the soil with the dinner plate.  When Roger and Leslie met in upstate New York in the summer of 1989 they discovered a shared passion for gardening, food and life. Over the next two years they exchanged many letters. Roger regaled Leslie with stories from the three-acre oasis he gardens in Eccleston Square, Central London and Leslie described her woodland garden in the semi-wilderness of rural Maine. The 3000-mile Garden, which contains a wealth of advice, tips and ideas for gardeners, was also released as a Channel 4 documentary in 1995. Published by Pan, 1992. In good condition. No dustjacket.
