Eastern Hemlock Jeddeloh
A dwarf form of the eastern hemlock, Tsuga canadensis Jeddeloh is a small, slow-growing evergreen, coniferous shrub whose branches are at first arching, then droop. The form is at first vase-shaped, but eventually forms a rounded dome. Emerging bright green, the short leaves are marked with white on their undersides. Inconspicuous flowers are followed by small oval cones. A good, architectural plant for a rockery or gravel garden, and very low-maintenance, eastern hemlock Jeddeloh holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
