Phormium Pink Stripe A wonderfully architectural plant of year-round interest, Phormium Pink Stripe is a large, clump-forming, evergreen perennial; it’s a ‘monocot’, like grass, with a similar, fountain-like habit. The broad, sword-like leaves are bluish-green, with bright pink edges. Occasionally, tall, upright stems with tubular, wine-red flowers appear in June and July, but it is for the marvellous leaves that this plant is really grown. Phormium Pink Stripe is not for colder areas, but thrives in mild, coastal locations. Ideal for a tropical planting or as a feature plant, and can be planted in a container. Prune off any damaged leaves in spring.
