Avens Lady Stratheden A long-established, justly popular avens cultivar, Geum Lady Stratheden is a semi-evergreen, clump-forming, herbaceous perennial. Mid-green, lobed leaves form a low mound. The rich yellow, semi-double flowers, 1 ½ “/4.5cm across, are clustered on tall and airy purplish stems, and appear as dots of colour floating above the leaves; this cultivar flowers from May to September. Its airy habit is a lovely contrast to more solid-looking plants, and it’s also good with low grasses. A really easy plant, Avens Lady Stratheden holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Divide every two to three years, to keep the plant from becoming woody and bare in the centre.
