Lesser Periwinkle Illumination A wonderful little plant for lighting up corners, banks or slopes in partial shade, Vinca minor Illumination is a low, mat-forming, evergreen perennial with long, spreading shoots, rooting as they go to form a weed-suppressing ground-cover. The elliptical leaves are vivid yellow, irregularly edged in deep green, contrasting well with the pretty, single, violet-blue flowers which bloom from April to September. Lesser periwinkle Illumination is particularly good in containers, because its trailing stems flow over the pot or basket more gracefully than those of most lesser periwinkles. Cut back any unwanted shoots in spring.
