William Teacher, the original brewer and founder started out by selling the whiskey in his wife's grocery store in 1832. After his passing in the 1870s his two sons took on the business. Michael Molloy, the man who set up the Tullamore Dew company, passed the business on to his nephew Bernard Daly shortly before his passing.
