Out of gratitude the family was granted the lands, the crest and the name „Hirsch“ (deer). The vineyards are located in Rheinhessen, one of the oldest wine-growing regions of Germany. Based on the understanding that biodiversity is a fundamental requirement for the functioning of eco-systems it came as a natural consequence that the vineyards are being cultivated organically according to ECOVIN standards since 1991. Hirschhof‘s wines represent a beautiful symbiosis of traditional values and a young wine style.
