The "Ficus microcarpa compacta" or "Bonsai Stem" is one of the most popular plants for beginners to bonsai. Part of the Mulberry family there are many different varieties, but this one has amazing swollen roots that stand above the soil and pot, which are beautiful in their own way. Then on top, there is a mass of glossy, smooth, deep green oval leaves on short erect stems.  Bonsai trees are captivating and beautiful and aren't as hard to grow as you might think as long as certain rules are followed.  Care Instructions: Enjoys average room temperature between 15 to 25°C Likes being placed in areas of bright indirect sunlight. Keep away from direct sunlight in warmer months. It doesn't like to be moved around, so find a good spot and try to keep it there. Keep it away from drafty areas such as corridors or hallways as this can cause its leave to fall off.  Repotting is essential every couple of years Avoid overwatering and don’t let water collect around the roots. Let it drip until dry before putting it back on its saucer.
