About the ProjectOur group collection 'Dawn' was put together at during the latter stages of 2020, calling on our Damn Fine Print members, to each respond to the theme of "Dawn" through their respective approaches to printmaking. 'Pull.' A 7 layer screen print. A deeply textured piece that evokes a still, meditative state in the viewer. The pull of the sea the pull of a squeegee on the screen. The eye scans across the page, investigating the dithered forms which move and undulate, and ultimately rest in the quiet cold nothingness of the centre form. A piece of art that is intentionally made to spend time with. About the ArtistLiam Gough is a master printer whose work combines drawing and printmaking, in a unique process that touches on the mechanical and the handmade. Liam is a member of the team at Damn Fine Print, with years of experience in the field of screen printing. Liam has participated in our group exhibition The Big Screen Print, and hosted a joint exhibition with fellow Damn Fine Print member Izzy Rose Grange, entitled "Still" which consisted of screen printed and experimental works which drew their inspiration from the sea.
