'Climbing the Walls - Part i' by Neil Dunne 6 colour hand-pulled screen print.500 x 650mm / on 300gsm Munken Lynx rough paper. Edition of 20, signed and numbered by artist. About the piece. Neil Dunne’s response to lockdown and the Covid 19 pandemic featuring his unique style, colours and distinctive urban aesthetic to examine his current situation. His usual inspiration of a busy city landscape is gone and he's left to pick apart, make fun of and even find joy in feelings of containment and imposed isolation. The series, Climbing The Walls, draws influence from the built environment and the ghosts of imagined city spaces to leave an exciting visual complex for the audience that proudly looks outwards and upwards during a time of cocooning and lockdown.  About the ArtistNeil Dunne's work engages with issues related to the built environment and personal experience. Employing a diverse range of mediums and aesthetic strategies – including drawing, painting and printmaking – his examination of the cultural and social setting found within the urban landscape portray a sense of stasis -  capturing the fragility of a moment. Neil works with a concept of print in mind, utilising his skills in silkscreen printing and takes advantage of an expanded print practice.
