Stewed Plum | Danish Pastry | Red Grape   Altitude | 1868 masl  Process | Fully Washed Variety | SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, Batian     The Rukira came top of the pile when we were cupping the 2020 Kenyans - we've been dying to get this super-sweet coffee to your lips! It is our second coffee this season from the Othaya Farmers' Co-operative Society, a 15,000 strong organisation of smallholders based in Kukuyu, Nyeri County. The wet mill of Rukira is one of a number of wetmills owned by the co-operative and this includes the Ichamama wet mill which we got to try earlier in the year. Rukira serves 676 farmers and an accumulated 128 acres of land. The trees in this area typically produce between 5 and 10 kilos of coffees per season. The processing at the mill consists of pulping, fermentation and then washing before two to three weeks of drying until the moisture in the beans reaches the 10-12% range. Enjoy!
