Saturday 11th February 2-5pmIn this workshop, Kay of Kay's Crafty Workshop will guide you through an introduction to the use and care of your sewing machine - whether a family heirloom or a recent purchase.  She'll show you how to thread it up, oil it, check tension, make basic stitches and generally how to be ready to move on to making some small items.  Content of classMachine types, threading top and bottom, tensions and common problems and how to solve them. Pressure on foot pedal and speed control.Machine maintenance including cleaning, oiling etc.; common problems and how to solve them.Needles types and what to use them for. Changing needlesFeeding dogs, what they are for. Different Feet to use with machine and what they are used for. Changing feet on your machine. To make during classScrunchies, bows for hair clips, tissue holder, plastic bag holder depending on progress of class. Cost includes tutoring, materials and refreshments. Small class size, bring your own machine and thread. Please note the class needs a minimum of 4 participants to take place. You can book online here or call into the shop and pay a deposit of €30 In the event of cancellation your booking deposit ( €30) will be retained unless a replacement can be found.
