This is a two-volume Dublin printing. Printed in 1777. Printed by Messrs Whitestone, W.Watson, Corcoran, R. Cross and others.
Until the 1840s, this book "held its place as the standard history of the discovery of the New World." It is highly regarded for its vivid descriptions.
William Robertson is regarded, along with David Hume and Edward Gibbon, as one of the most important British historians of the 18th century.
Set in contemporary tree calf, rich gilt to spines with morocco labels, tight and secure, with the joints intact.
Inscription on title pages of both volumes. Both volumes available for a total of €400.
