Subodh Gupta, born in 1964, is an Indian contemporary artist based in New Delhi. Trained as a painter, he went on to experiment with a variety of media.He has written: "I think art has a language that anyone can understand, can comprehend ... everyone has the right to see it in their own way and why not? This is freedom ... this is the power of high art." The book, made up of two main sections, investigates the figure of the artist through an excursus of his work from the beginning to today, and focuses on his exhibition "There is always cinema", which took place in San Gimignano, Italy, in 2008.It is illustrated throughout, with several gatefolds.
