Subodh Gupta, born in 1964, is an Indian contemporary artist based in New Delhi. Trained as a painter, he went on to experiment with a variety of media.He has written: "I think art has a language that anyone can understand, can comprehend ... everyone has the right to see it in their own way and why not? This is freedom ... this is the power of high art."
