Contribution and Collaboration: The Work of Petra Andrejova-Molnár and Her Contemporaries, by Katarina Burin
€15.00

Quay Books
Petra Andrejova-Molnár does not exist. She is a fictitious mid 20th century Czechoslovakian architect invented by Slovakian artist Katarina Burin to question notions of authorship and authenticity, and to give a voice to female designers.
The Work of Petra Andrejova-Molnár and Her Contemporaries offers a biography of Andrejova-Molnar, and discusses her education and design work, comprising architectural models, drawings, furniture and design objects, photographs, and texts.
Burin then positions Petra’s work in relation to other female architects, French designer Charlotte Perriand (1903 – 1999) and Wexford-born Eileen Grey (1878 – 1976), in order to explore the relationship between gender and the archive, and the historical tension between national identity and internationalist aspirations.
Katarina Burin was born in Bratislava in 1975; she lives and works in Cambridge, Massachussets.
