According to the Oxford Companion to Wine, it comes from a mixture of Latin and Greek which translates as ‘the valley of many cellars’. It’s also known as the ‘pearl of Verona’, with wine production hidden away in the region’s foothills, just north of the Adige River, and is a shining example of everything the country has to offer. Valpolicellians have been stomping grapes since the days of ancient Greece and the red wine only seems to get better with age. The young, dynamic duo of Giulia and Valentina Malesani (hence the name `Giuva`) are situated north of Verona in the Val Squaranto. Planted at about 300m, the vines surprisingly face north and west, giving the wines incredible freshness and crunchy red fruits.  Tasting Note: This has flamboyant jammy notes on the nose, then great structure on the palate with expressive, juicy berries and ripe cherries. It`s meaty and earthy, with spicy and jammy undertones. Food Matches: Pasta / Risottos / Veal
