Rock Rose Sunset
A dwarf, low-growing rock rose, Cistus x pulverulentus Sunset is an evergreen shrub with a compact, rather sprawling habit, suitable for small gardens. The simple leaves are grey-green, with wavy edges. Glorious, papery, magenta flowers with a vivid golden eye are borne in June and July. Prune Rock rose Sunset after flowering, taking off ⅔ of the new growth; don’t prune into old wood, or you may kill it. Drought-tolerant and easy. A good, plant at the front of a sunny border, and also does well in a sunny patio pot. Rock rose Sunset holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
