Silk Tree Summer Chocolate A slightly tender shrub or small tree for the medium-sized garden in mild areas, Albizia julibrissin Summer Chocolate PBR is a large shrub or small tree, quite slow-growing, deciduous, with chocolate-like, purplish--bronze foliage in summer, a domed crown and a quite narrow profile. The leaves are heavily divided into leaflets, and look quite fern-like. Clusters of pinkish or yellow-green flowers can be borne in summer in milder areas. This shrub  is not for areas with savage frosts; it’s best in milder gardens. Need a sheltered position from cold winds, and will stand slightly colder sites if the summer growth is sufficiently ripened (not very likely in the midlands or northern Ireland).
