Chinese Pearl-Bloom Tree A spreading tree with late summer, fragrant flowers, Poliothyrsis sinensis is a large, deciduous tree or shrub. Long, narrow, ovoid, elegantly pointed leaves emerge with a bronze flush, turning deep glossy green. In mid- and late summer white buds open to small, greenish-white, very fragrant flowers, borne in conical clusters.  Good in an architectural garden. A healthy tree, pest- and disease-free, and no pruning necessary. Propagate with seed, or greenwood cuttings in summer.
