Glazing Workshop ABOUT THIS CLASS Pottery pieces are enhanced and transformed by the glaze colours applied to them. Glazing also ensures that pottery is made functional, food safe, and watertight.   The Glazing Workshop will be of interest to you if you have completed one of our throwing classes and would like to glaze your own pot, and/or if you have an interest in the chemistry, ingredients and techniques of glazing pots. In this workshop you will get to glaze pots yourself (we will supply the unglazed pots if you don’t have them from your throwing workshop). Where and What Time: This workshop runs for a 2 hours in our light-filled Arran Street East studio in the heart of the Dublin Fruit and Vegetable Markets area. Eircode: D07 K744 google map. FAQs When will my pots be ready for the collection?  Please allow at least 4 weeks for collection - we will email you when they are ready. Please note - sometimes, not often, pieces don’t survive firing in the kiln and they get damaged - this is beyond any potter’s control.  What should I wear/bring?  Your clothes and shoes mayl get wet and dirty from splashes so please wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting messy. Please bring your own apron and a hand towel.  Who is this course for? This workshop will suit beginners looking for an introduction to working with glazes, or those who have worked with clay before and would like to know more about glaze applications.  Is there an age limit for the Workshop? This course is generally for people aged 18 and above. A teenager over 15 may attend if they are accompanied by an adult. Please let us know in advance.  What's the day like? You will be welcomed by your teacher and brought to one of our light-filled classrooms (please let us know if you have mobility issues so we can accommodate you in the downstairs classroom, as some classrooms are accessible by stairs only). Each participant will have access to their own workstation and tools for the duration of the workshop. We supply all the materials you need, but please bring your own apron and towel so as not together your clothes wet. The workshop ends with a class and equipment tidy up - another important part of the potter's training!  What are my transport/parking options getting to the workshop? The nearest Luas Red Line stop is 'Four Courts', (a five minute walk away) and many bus routes service Stop 1479 on Ormond Quay, at the junction with Capel Street. You'll also find a Dublin Bikes stand at each of these locations. Due to our City Centre location, on-street parking immediately outside the building is limited, but there is pay and display in the general area, and there are large car parks nearby at Jervis Shopping Centre and beside the Fruit and Vegetable Markets. Is my booking transferrable and what is the cancellation policy? Please check our cancellation policy. Are there any Health and Safety issues?
